Ferrari Supercar Design Concept by toyonda Ferrari Supercar Design Concept by toyonda
It's FINALLY COMPLETE. :iconproudplz::icondaharid:

This pretty much took me nearly 60 hours to do, stayed up several nights, coming up with sketches, ideas, concepts, theme for this design etc. I also made numerous mistakes when I was designing this car so it was quite problematic during developing this but overall, it was quite fun and I learned a lot of things from coming up with this design.

Sorry if my proportions are inaccurate (the windows and the front trunk are kinda bit wrong, they are supposed to go in a near-straight line but I missed that. ^^; gotta practice more)

As those who major in automotive design would know, there was a Ferrari design contest held at Maranello, Italy, where the participants were asked to create a pure hypercar with technology and materials from the latest generation, a car with an extreme architecture, while functional under every aspect.
And after hearing that our country's designers from Hong-Ik university had won the contest, I took the challenge of designing my own Ferrari for the upcoming decade. :iconchallengeacceptedplz:

Also, Sergio Pininfarina, the legendary designer who pretty much oversaw all of Ferrari model's design, passed away on July 3 this year :( So to commemorate his glorious legacy of creating at what could be the biggest passion of all mankinds, I designed the Ferrari with my best skills that I had.

The overall basic design was inspired fron a sleek beautiful fish.
Like how a long sleek, and exquisite fish glides gracefully throughout the waters, I thought about a car which streamed through the roads and racetracks gracefully.

The most and primary concept(purpose) that I decided was to provide a Ferrari with radical, intense, and aerodyanmic shape while displaying an amiable, graceful, and benign characteristics of a Super luxury car. (As Ferrari is indeed a prestigious brand)

Sharp and low profile was one of the key factors when coming up with design for a sleek supercar. (at around 100mm height)
So the driver will not only feel as if he was in a Formula one machine but in the sametime, as in the front cabinet of a Bentley Continental GT coupe .

The most notable part of this car would be perhaps, thw wide windshield in the front. This was a inspired by Bertone's Stratos Zero concept in 1970, with wide front windows allowing for maximum visibilty.

To talk about the design details, I included LED lights and single exhaust pipe along with sharp headlights to express strength and softness for the car. There is no rear windhsield for this car, as to provide racing car like experience and a camera is installed in the sides which function as a rear view mirror.

The main concepts for my Ferrari designs were SOFTNESS and SIMPLICITY along with strength (showing the low profile sleek strong characteristics).

One of the things which I realized that Ferrari, wile making hardcore supercars that are extremely challenging to drive such as the previous F40, F50 Enzo, and the new F12 Berlinetta, they also concentrate a great amount to produce supercars that are soft and easy to drive. Such cars are the California and the FF , which provides not only power, speed and passion of Ferrari, but also comfort and reliabilty of an everyday sedan along with technologies so the owner would have a lot less trouble owning one and would enjoy a comfortable and thrilling drive while he or she cruises down the highways.

2. Simplicity

Another aspect which I came to consider when I designed this Ferrari was being simple with candor and chastity. After receving comments from my previous design, the Lamborghini Trivolta concept, I decided that simplicity was very important in car design (My Lamborghini design having way too many side lines)

Although making things quite complex could be interesting and intriguing, it can often result in people getting confused and disturbed, as well as increase the cost and make assembling more difficult.

To keep everything as simple as possible while exaggerating details that needs to be expressed well, I kept everything to minimum possible extent and tried to show aggressiveness via rear lights and angles throughout the car. Also, to reduce much weight as possible, the only thing which I added in the front was the small grille and the led lights with carbon fiber bumpers.

An additional LED lights have been placed on the sides for safety reasons. I also noticed that as time passed, not only were cars becoming more faster, but safer as well, with various signals and instruments to detect and prevent any imminent danger coming to the car. I was inspired from a thinking person, as whatever we do, we always use our brains, and human beings are able to reason and think with their brains.

So to sum up, creating a hypercar with great strength and showing aggressive ferrari looks while maintaing simple and smooth design was the main focus on my design.

Everything on this project was designed, and done all by myself on Adobe Phtoshop CS5 Extended (Except the wheels, they are from Ferrari's luxury Grand tourer, the FF, which really describes the characteristics of a Ferrari with its luxury 5 spoke rims)

To sum up, this is my first design that I've ever done using design tools entirely. So I gotta say, I am quite proud.

Please comment and critique, if there's something which you do not like, please comment, even one small details. Thank you very much and hope you enjoy what could be my most ultimate creation.:)
