|My ultimate design project.|
A new Le Mans racing system of pit stops for the year 2030.
My entry for Last year's Michelin Design Challenge. Yeah, I know, the idea of the cockpit detaching from the body has been in existence but I wanted to take it one step further.
They say Le Mans is won and lost depending on how much time a car spends in the pits. Company organizers and pit stop crew are looking for new ways in which they can allow much quicker pit stops while meeting regulations (ex. engine needs to be shut off when car is in the pits).
With this in mind, after years of research and development, Toyota creates the X-Connectivity concept, a vehicle that has the ablilty for the cockpit to be deatched from the body. By having two bodies with the cockpit holding both the driver and the engine, the cockpit is able to slide in to the next body via advanced magentic levitation technolgy and immediately roll out once re-connected. The benefits to this idea is that it will allow much quicker pit stops, thus allowing higher chances for the team to win.
Le mans has always been the ultimate place to not only test the manufacturer's newest technology but the reliability of their vehicles as well. And this idea also demonstrates this effectively. The idea that the cockpit detaches from the body heavily demands the ultimate technology factor posssible as it incorporates that the engine, electrical system, steering mechanism, brakes, and, energy transfer systems must be connected effectively during pit stops when the cockpit slides into the body in front.
The benefits to this idea is that it will allow the manufacturers to go on to their farthest extent in their technological endeavor and allow much quicker pit stops, something which has always been the key for victory.
Depending on how EFFECTIVELY the componets of the cockpit and body connects in a certain amount of time will PIT STOP CREW CAN CONNECT AND RECONNECT THE BODY AND PUTTING IT
With eco friendly and efficicency being taken into serious account by 2030, new legislation for le mans will occur thansk to advancement in technology. Pit stops will be faster than ever, and technology will be pushed to the limits.
This entire project took 8 long months to complete and was mainly done on Photoshop CS6. The wheel/mechanism has been modelled on Autodesk Alias and rendered via Keyshot Ver 6.2
Seen at the Peugeot Avenue Gallery in Beijing, China
The Peugeot Type 54 was an all-new model made in 1903. Producing 250 units in less than a year, it was Peugeot's first considerable production effort. Front-engine design with rear-wheel drive, made possible by a driveshaft, was in its second year of use at Peugeot.
With a new 652 cc engine, 5 bhp (3.7 kW) was available. The Type 54 was a lightweight, compact runabout that seated two, which meant a maximum speed of 40 kilometres per hour (25 mph)
I am a very ambitious car maniac whose dream is to become one of the top leading automobile designers in the world, such as Adrian Van Hooydonk(BMW), Peter Schreyer(Kia), and Luc Donckerwolke (Lamborghini and VW).
I am still an amateur designer/drawer who still has lots to learn and has a long way to go in order to accomplish the dream of becoming a successful automobile designer.
My actual birthday is Novemeber 27th 1993, so I am still 19 at current
